Ashton: Border Collie/Terrier X- Ashton is a 3 yr old (as of 07.12.10) neutered male Border collie/terrier x. He is true to his border collie/terrier breed. He’s loyal, active, smart, eager to please and stays very close. Loves to chase a ball, go for walks, just be close to his person. Ashton does well with the dogs at FPAR but is still learning how to share his toys. “Ash” likes to lay in his pool when it’s too hot!! He watches over the pups and the smaller dogs… chases birds that come anywhere near! Is a bit nervous in the car but with some work he will probably learn to enjoy his rides. We are not sure how Ashton is with children. He is not good with cats. He uses a dog door. Ashton is a very likable boy!!!!!!!!!

Coco: Belgian Malinois- Coco is Pinal Mountain K9's latest ward. She is about 3-4 year old, spayed Belgian Malinois with a troubled past. We don't have the whole story but what we do know is that she came to us from the rescue where she was there as part of an abuse/neglect case with a bunch of other dogs. She was just spayed on July 26th and she was turned over to us on July 29th, so she has been bounced around and hasn't had a chance to settle in. She was just spayed and soon as she heals up we need to give this poor girl a bath, she is just about the greasiest, dirty dog I have run across in a long time. I am sure that it will probably be the first time she has ever had a bath. We don't know the details behind it but what we see in her is a dog that does not have a whole lot of social skills. She is very use to being in a kennel so she probably spent a good amount of time in one in the past. She comes off as being a tough girl but as soon as you tell her to knock it off she cowers. Given the chance she will lick your face and ears but she acts like nobody has ever given her the chance to bond with humans. It is a shame when dog with this much drive and energy doesn't know what a tennis ball is. She has high prey drive but doesn't really know how to express it. She is going to have to have a special forever person who will be willing to teach her how to be a dog. To insure that she doesn't go back to the original owner we are going to require the new owner to provide references at least 1 being from their current vet. It would be best if she went to a only dog home or maybe a submissive male as she is pretty dominate and has not learned how to be part of pack yet. An experienced dog owner is required as this is not a dog for a first time dog owner.

Iggy: Corgi Terrier Mix - Iggy is an adorable neutered male Corgi/ Terrier mix. Cruelly abandoned and mistaken for a fox in someone's backyard, we brought him here as a scared and distrustful dog. It has taken some extra work and TLC to get Iggy to once again bond with humans after his tough start. In fact, he still needs that special someone who is willing to be patient with him as he continues to work through his issues. A happy companion, Iggy loves to tag along with us here at his foster home as we go through our day. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, and even tolerates the goats and horses at a respectful distance. Iggy loves to play and, once he gets to know you, appreciates a good ear rub and gives kisses in return. Iggy is both house and dog door trained and is very well behaved. He will be a super and unique addition to a caring and loving quiet adult home with no children around.
